19032018: #MALDIVES PART ONE

Hey ho everyone ! 🙂

It’s almost Easter whereby the weather rather lets us guess it’s Christmas-Time. While sitting in front of the chimney today I want to share my last trip to the Maldives with you. After finishing my internship on Bali it was time for some amazing holidays in my personal paradise on earth – The Maldives. I haven’t ever been to the Caribbean Sea, neither on Hawaii (both on my list though), but I do think there is no place on earth comparable to the Maldives. The Maldives pretty much depict the paradise like it’s written down in books: White sand meets indigo blue and turquoise water and endless palm tree forests – on 1196 islands. It’s been my fourth time on the Maldives what didn’t let me astonish less on arrival. It’s a spot on earth that I surely will always return to. Another amazing fact about the Maldives: YOU WON’T NEED SHOES. 99% of the day I went barefoot everywhere (except the gym)… Living the barefoot life; for me a life goal ! <3

Kaum zu glauben, dass bald Ostern ist, vor allem wenn man rausschaut. Das Wetter hat wohl dieses Jahr Ostern mit Weihnachten verwechselt. Während ich schön vor dem Kamin sitze, möchte ich heute einige Eindrücke meiner letzte Reise auf die Malediven mit euch teilen. Nach dem Praktikum auf Bali ging es direkt für 14 Tage in mein persönliches Paradies auf Erden: Die Malediven. Ich war zwar noch nie in der Karibik, und auch noch nicht auf Hawaii (beides ganz oben auf meiner Liste), aber für mich gibt’s keinen vergleichbaren Ort auf der Welt, der so schön ist. Die Malediven spiegeln ziemlich genau das Paradies, wie es im Buch steht, wieder: Weißer Sand, indigo blaues und türkises Meer und Palmen, wo man nur hinschaut – verteilt auf 1196 Inseln. Für mich war es die vierte Reise auf die Malediven, was mich bei der Anreise kein bisschen weniger staunen ließ. Definitiv ein kleiner Fleck auf der Erde, wo ich immer wieder hin zurück kehren werde. PS: Ein weiterer Fakt zu den Malediven: SCHUHE WERDEN ÜBERBEWERTET, 99% der Zeit habe ich mich barfuß fortbewegt (außer natürlich im Fitness-Center)… Das Barfuß-Leben hat schon was ! <3

The flight over paradise always is an adventure <3

After the direct flight from Frankfurt to Male we had another domestic flight to Daravandhoo from where the resort was just another 10 minutes by speed boat. Dreamland Resort and Spa just opened on the 01st of February in 2018 and it was such a great experience to be one of the first guests on an island.

Nach dem Direktflug von Frankfurt nach Male hieß es noch einmal, in den Inlandsflieger einsteigen, um auf Daravandhoo zu landen. Von dort aus waren es dann nur noch 10 Minuten mit dem Speedboot .Dreamland Resort and Spa hat erst am ersten Februar 2018 eröffnet und es ist wirklich eine mega Erfahrung, zu den ersten wenigen Gäste auf einer Insel zu gehören.

Our Bungalow/ Unsere Strand-Villa

Dreamland consists of two different types of accommodation: Water bungalows and beach villas. We were more than happy having a beach villa, which is surrounded by white sand and 3 meters away from the ocean. Apart of the huge canopy bed in the middle of the bedroom, the bathroom was an absolute highlight. It’s divided into two parts: The indoor part, which was made from white marble and includes both, a shower and a bathtub. Walking further the bathroom continues with the most luxurious outdoor shower I ever saw. Having a shower under hundreds of palm trees – a dream that comes true.

Auf Dreamland gibt es sowohl Wasserbungalows, als auch Strandvillen. Wir waren mehr als glücklich mit unserer Beachvilla, die von weißem Sand umgeben und sage und schreibe drei Meter vom Meer entfernt ist. Abgesehen vom riesigen Himmelbett ist das Badezimmer ein ziemliches Highlight. Dieses ist in zwei Parts geteilt: Zum einen das Indoor-Bad mit Dusche und Badewanne und weißen Mamorwänden; und geht man weiter, erreicht man die luxuriöseste Outdoor-Dusche, die ich bislang gesehen habe. Unter der Dusche stehen und zu Hunderten von Palmen aufschauen – traumhafte Duschsituation on point. 😀

The Island

Besides the lovely palm trees that are spread on the island a Mangrove forest and a natural lake turn Dreamland into an absolutely unique spot. The bio-pool is just perfect to swim some rounds. Actually borders divide the pool and the lake very well. That doesn’t mean that my dad and me wouldn’t try to swim “on the other side” between the sea lilies. 😀

Neben den auf der Insel verstreuten Palmen gibt es noch einen Mangrovenwald und einen Süßwassersee im inneren Teil der Insel, der Dreamland zum absolut einzigartigen Ziel macht. Der Bio-Pool ist perfekt, um eine kleine Runde zu schwimmen. Eigentlich zeigen Wände die Grenzen zwischen Pool und See sehr gut auf. Das heißt nicht, dass mein Vater und ich diese nicht einmal austesten würden. Ganz im Gegenteil: Wir schwammen auch gerne mal “auf der anderen Seite” zwischen Seerosen und Algen herum. 😀

What would a Maldivian Island be without a jetty ? A location, where you can have views all over the ocean, gaze at the island or watch the stars at night, take great photos of course – and burn your feet on the wood at midday… 😀

Was wäre eine Malediven-Insel ohne einen Steg (oder auch mehrere) ? Ein Ort, von dem man perfekt das Meer beobachten, zurück auf die Insel schauen und nachts in die Sterne gucken kann. Natürlich dient der auch perfekt für jegliche Fotos – und man kann sich in der Mittagssonne bestens die Füße verbrennen… 😀

Breakfast with a view

Dreamland has two restaurants: One with sea view and one with lake view. We always had Breakfast and Lunch with sea view and for dinner the lake view restaurant opened. In addition a pool bar and a beach bar are just perfect to enjoy some drinks for example during the sunset.

Dreamland hat zwei Restaurants: Eins mit Meerblick und eins mit Poolblick. Bei uns war die Aufteilung so, dass wir zum Frühstück und Mittagessen ins Meer-Restaurant und zum Abendessen ind Pool-Restaurant gegangen sind. Außerdem gibt es sowohl eine Pool- als auch eine Beachbar, wo man sich gerade zu perfekt den Sonnenuntergang bei einem Drink anschauen kann.

I love mornings, especially getting up early during vacation. Catching the sunrise, enjoying the beauty of nature and listening to the waves and the birds – simply amazing ! And not to forget: Having a daily power-workout before breakfast. The gym on Dreamland offers treadmills, bicycles and weights for the perfect morning workout.

Ich bin der absolute Morgenmensch. Ich liebe es, gerade im Urlaub für aufzustehen. Den Sonnenaufgang, die Natur zu genießen, sowie dem Wellenrauschen und dem Vogelgezwitscher zuzuhören – wunderschön ! Nicht zu vergessen: Das Pre-Breakfast Workout im Fitness-Center. Das gibt es auf Dreamland auch un ist mit Laufbändern, Fahrrädern, Geräten und Gewichten bestens ausgestattet.

I love traveling with my parents – I always wonder how people can say it’s uncool to travel with the family. Actually it’s one of the greatest things. 🙂 <3

Ich liebe es, mit meinen Eltern zu verreisen – Ich frage mich immer, wie manche das als “uncool” bezeichnen können. Eigentlich ist es eins der besten Dinge überhaupt. 🙂 <3

At this point it’s time to send my Baywatch-application, hahaha. This was such a spontaneous idea – especially the video (click here to see), but was so much fun though 😀
