29012018: #BALI PART FOUR: NUSA LEMBONGAN

It’s been a while again… and in my head the next four posts have already been planned. I just have to find the time to write and finish them. Well, so chronology also changed a bit. I actually wanted to write about the Mount Batur “Sunrise”-Trekking first, but as it was a bit disappointing without a sunrise I’m kind of avoiding to start the post.

Es ist schon wieder ein Weilchen her seit dem letzten post… ups :D. Dabei sind in meinem Kopf schon die nächsten vier Blogposts fest geplant. Ich muss nur mal die Zeit finden, alles ‘runterzuschreiben und hochzuladen. Jetzt kommt auch ein ganz kleiner chronologischer Bruch – eigentlich wäre jetzt der Mount Batur “Sunrise”-Trekking Post dran, mit dem tu ich mich nur leider schwer, weil es an dem Tag enttäuschender Weise gar keinen Sunrise gab, kommt aber trotzdem noch. 

Anyway, today I want to share some impressions about my trip to Nusa Lembongan. In the South East of Bali there are three Islands: Nusa Penida (which is the biggest one), Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. We started our trip on Friday Midday and came back on Sunday evening. The plan was: One day Nusa Lembongan and Ceningan and 1,5 days Nusa Penida.

Aaaaalso, heute gibt’s hier mal ein paar Eindrücke von der Reise nach Nusa Lembongan. Süd-östlich von Bali befinden sich drei kleine Inseln: Nusa Penida (die mit Abstand größte, Nusa Lembongan und Nusa Ceningan). Freitag ging’s los und Sonntag waren wir zurück in unserer Hood in Seminyak. Der Plan war, einen Tag auf Nusa Lembongan und Ceningan und 1,5 Tage auf Nusa Penida zu verbringen. 

It all began on a little boat crossing the rough Indian Ocean. I am not a seasick person, but that ride made me thinking if I will survive this trip or not. Good that the life vests were already prepared on the seats. Besides of me concentrating to survive, Vicky was telling about a story that some of these boats exploded some years ago. That really calmed me… The other passengers were already screaming, we just tried to be calm and making fun of it.

Alles begann auf einem kleinen Boot, das krampfhaft versuchte, den wilden Indischen Ozean zu überkreuzen. Ich bin wirklich keine seekranke Person, aber ich hatte zwischenzeitlich ein wenig Todesangst. Gut, dass die Schwimmwesten auch schon demonstrativ auf den Sitzen lagen. Neben mir und meiner Konzentration darauf, dass alles gut wird, Vicky, die davon spricht, dass “diese Boote” ja auch angeblich öfters mal aus dem nichts explodieren. Beruhigende Worte… Während alle anderen Passagiere be jedem Abheben des Bootes erste Schreie äußerten, haben wir einfach versucht, lustig zu bleiben und das hat auch funktioniert!

After 45 min we arrived. And though it was cloudy, Nusa Lembongan presented itself like a little heaven. White sand, turquoise sea. Off to the first accommodation with the public transport (next adventure). We booked Last Minute and found a great Air B’n’B that turned out to be a hotel with a huge pool and looked super luxurious – and we payed $20 each, Welcome to Bali! <3

Nach 45 min war endlich Land in Sicht. Und trotz der Wolken, hat sich Nusa Lembongan gleich von einer schönen Seite präsentiert: Weißer Sand, türkises Wasser, noch Wünsche ? Auf geht’s zur Unterkunft mit dem “transport included” (nächstes Abenteuer 😀 ). Wir haben Last Minute noch ein tolles Air B’n’B gefunden, welches am Ende ein Hotel mit Pool war und ziemlich luxuriös aussah – und wir haben jeder 15€ gezahlt, Willkommen auf Bali! <3

No time to loose: Quickly rented Scooters and on the road we are. Just a little hack for those who prefer surviving: Roads are super bad in Lembongan and anyway after my accident I can only underline more: Wear a helmet and take yours from Bali as you can’t rent neither buy a helmet on Lembongan, nor on Penida.

Keine Zeit zu verlieren: Schnell zwei Roller gemietet und auf  geht’s, “hitting the roads of Lembongan”. Ein kleiner Überlebenstipp: Die Straßen in Lembongan lassen sich nur schwer als Straßen definieren und sowieso auch nach meinem Rollerunfall kann ich nur jedem einen Helm empfehlen. Da es weder auf Lembongan, noch auf Penida Helme zu mieten oder zu kaufen gibt, am besten den gleich von Bali mitnehmen!

“ROADS” in Lembongan

It was a roadtrip that more or less converted into a mud-trip, but we had a lot of fun laughing so bad about our selves. We still managed it to see Lembongan’s greatest spots on Friday: Mushroom Beach, The Devil’s Tear and Dream Beach. With mud allover we drove back to our hotel and fell into bed already looking forward to the upcoming adventures.

Der Roadtrip verwandelte sich dann irgendwann in einen Schlamm-Trip, was die Sache eindeutig lustiger gemacht hat (nur wenn man über sich selbst lachen kann 😀 ) Wir haben es tatsächlich noch geschafft, die wichtigsten Hotspots Lembongans zu sehen: Mushroom Beach, The Devil’s Tear und Dream Beach. Mit Dreck und Schlamm überall ging’s dann zurück ins Hotel, wo wir dann ins Bett gefallen sind und es gerade noch so geschafft haben, den Wecker zu stellen. :p

The Devil’s Tear: The Indian Ocean can be really rough!

Saturday Morning: A slightly touch of rain made me start into the day with a jump into the pool. But as we had a huge TO-SEE-LIST there was again no time to lose: And we wanted to take the boat to Nusa Penida already at midday. We started the day at the Mangrove Beach, which was beautiful and really different than all the other beaches here!

Samstagmorgen: Ein Hauch von Regen, das lässt sich am besten im Pool aushalten. Aber auch hier galt wieder: Keine Zeit zu verlieren, die TO-SEE-LISTE ist riesig. Und wir wollten bereits mittags das Boot nach Nusa Penida nehmen. Erster Stopp: Mangrove Beach. Ein echt schöner Strand, der sich vor allem von allen anderen abhebt!

3 TO-DO’S ON CENINGAN || 3 TO-DO’S AUF CENINGAN:

1. Blue Lagoon: Yes, It is indeed that blue!

2. Secret Beach: Seems to be kind of Secret, as we were really the only ones there 😀

3. Le Pirate Beach Club (Soooo beautiful, we actually wanted to stay there over night, but it was already booked out. But as it is also a Beach Club, we decided to have breakfast there, which was an amazing idea!)

3. Le Pirate Beach Club: (Soooo schön dort, eigentlich wollten wir dort auch eine Nacht bleiben war aber leider schon ausgebucht. Da es aber auch ein Beach Club ist, haben wir dort gefrühstückt, mit einem mega Ausblick!)

And then it was already time to say Goodbye to Nusa Ceningan/ Lembongan. Off to Penida, straight into the next adventure. We really tried hard to find the Public Transport and ended up in a private boat that was full of water before we left. Well, as much as I can say now: We arrived safely. More about Penida, including the greatest beaches, the best photo spots and how to fix a flat tire at twilight in the middle of nowhere – in the next post!

Und schon heißt es Ciao Nusa Ceningan/ Lembongan, Auf nach Penida, direkt ins nächste Abeteuer! Wir haben wirklich versucht, dien ganz normalen öffentlichen Bootstransfer nach Penida zu finden. Am Ende saßen wir in einem privaten Boot, aus dem der Fahrer vorher noch eimerweise Wasser herausschaffen musste. Klang sicher genug für uns. Zumindest sind wir gut angekommen und die Fahrt war entspannter als beide Fahrten von und nach Bali. Mehr über Nusa Penida gibt es dann im nächsten Post.
